Acupuncture Physician

My journey into the world of Chinese Medicine began at the age of 16 when I worked for a holistic dentist who introduced me to acupuncture.  Although my path was not carved out at that time to head straight to acupuncture school, it wound its way around to lead back to this fascinating medicine.

After receiving my bachelors degree from Cornell University in Ithaca NY, I ventured across the country to California where I attended National Holistic Institute.  I enjoyed California living while I practiced massage therapy.  When my desire to study acupuncture made itself clear, I packed up and headed back east to Massachusetts and enrolled in the New England School of Acupuncture.

I returned to New York after graduation, then came marriage and a baby carriage- 3 of them!  Yoga became a part of my life and was a wonder during pregnancies.  My love of yoga naturally led me to attend teacher training.  As my family grew so did my passion for essential oils- to use as natural cleansers and healing remedies.

My family moved to Florida in 2008 and I am now owner and practitioner of Healthy Life Acupuncture.  I am proud to co-host a Yoga and Meditation Retreat that is held yearly in the Spring.  I look forward to welcoming you to my practice.

Initial treatment

The underlying principles of TCM are very different from traditional Western notions about health, illness and the workings of the body.  Chinese medical diagnosis and treatment involves identifying the factors that are out of balance and attempting to bring them back into harmony.  Diagnosis is carried out by means of listening to the patient, asking a series of questions, observing the tongue and palpating various parts of the body.

The initial intake takes about one and a half hours.  During this time you will also have the chance to ask questions, receive treatment and a diagnosis and treatment plan can be discussed.

We use only sterile, single use disposable needles.
